I do not use AI in my work. I will respect both my craft and my contemporaries who have put in their 10,000 hours to their craft and did not consent nor were they compensated for the use of their work in these datasets. Until something is changed, I will not participate in trampling on that consent nor will I participate in the dissolution of my craft. It takes courage, honesty, and vulnerability to create. AI image generation is currently none of those things. I will stay diligent, hopeful, and open for changes, both ethical and legal, in the future but until those changes come to fruition no AI generated images (or otherwise) will be present in my workflow.

Artist Statement:
The common thread between my work over the years has always been to try to create connections between humans. Art, both consuming and creating, was the one of the only ways I was able to create a safe semblance of connection to other people for many years because I didn't yet know how to create healthy intimate connections in my day to day life. I create now in the hopes to give someone else a safe haven to feel the presence of others until they are are able to find those connections in their day to day life as well.
The shoulders I stand upon to create are strong and full of history. I provide my own shoulders to lift up others should they wish to use them.
